The National Bureau of Asian Research (NBR) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan research institution dedicated to informing and strengthening policy
in the Asia-Pacific. NBR conducts advanced research on politics and security, economics and trade, and health and societal issues, with emphasis on those of interest to the United States.
The East-West Center contributes to a peaceful, prosperous, and just Asia Pacific community by serving as a vigorous hub for cooperative research, education, and dialogue on critical issues of common concern to the Asia Pacific region and the United States.
Top global specialists on standards and innovation policy will assemble at an invitation-only workshop
in Beijing, China, to examine the international dimension of China's standards and innovation policy and the challenge of reconciling national policies with international standards.
Findings from the workshop and related research will be published and disseminated through briefings in Washington, DC, and Beijing in 2010.
